Just when you start working on one thing in your house something else breaks. It seems as though our oven just won't heat up as fast as it used it. The preheat light takes forever to go off and things take longer to cook. *sigh* It is a cheap brand from what I heard (Rover) but we really can't afford to buy a new one right now. It's also the kind that is built into the wall so I don't know if we would keep that style or get an oven that has a range also.
Looks like we may need to make yet another trip to Lowe's or Home Depot soon.

I recently had a problem like this with our oven. All it required was a new heating element. It was easy to replace on mine, and might be on yours too. Mine was a Kenmore (really GE in this case) and teh element was about $50 (I think Sears charges too much for parts, and maybe I could have found one for less if I'd known exactly what I was looking for). So before you replace the oven...
I assume your oven has two heating elements and it is just the lower bake one that is not working. Does the upper broiler element work?
Yea, it's the lower bake that seems to be taking a long time to heat. Thanks for the advise and I'll take a look at it when I get home.
